Texas Tech

I’m a student in Texas and my dream school is Texas Tech. I’m afraid I don’t have the GPA or ACT to get in. My GPA is a 3.2 and my ACT is a 24. The only extracurricular I have is competitive figure skating and tennis. The clubs I am in are Circle of Friends and Fellowship Christian Athletes. I don’t know if it matters but I’m working 20 hours a week at a restaurant. I’ve only taken a couple Pre-AP classes in physics and chemistry. I’m thinking about majoring in Accounting or Finance. What are my chances of getting in and what can I do to improve my chances?

0% chance of getting in, chimichanga. TTU is the Harvard of the south. I had a 34 ACT, top 10% in Texas, AND had incredible extra currics and I got rejected. I even cooked chicken for the Dean of Admissions and his favorite type of bread (burnt toast). If I had no chance…you got no chance.

To give you perspective, I got into 3 Ivies, Duke, Vanderbilt, UChicago, and South Plains College, but got rejected from my top choice (Texas Tech).

If I could offer advice, raise your ACT by 20 points. That will get you in the range. From there, I’d try to at least run 1 mile a day (they don’t like short distance runners). Also, mention in your apps that you REALLY like turkey. Like on your resume say you are a turkey fanatic. I say this because the Chancellor of Tech is a turkey and would appreciate the flattery and common ground between you two. DENOUNCE THE HOLIDAY THANKSGIVING. Very sensitive topic to her so do it in a polite way. Also, how is your body musk? important to have some odor, but not too much.

Finally, they have to read a lot of essays. Basically, make it easy on them to read (benefit for you). At most 5 words.
[E.G. Thanksgiving = bad, Turkeys= awesome  ]

Oh yeah, definitely use at least one emoticon but no more than 5.

Good luck!
In reality I think you have a good shot. My friend did worse grade wise and got in with fewer extracurrics.

Did you get accepted my friend?
