Texas Universites -TRANSFER (Moving)

I live in Michigan and JUST found out that I will be moving to Texas for Family reasons. I have just completed my first year of College at a local Community College here in Michigan. I have no clue about anything in Texas, let alone where to finish my Undergraduate studies. I want to earn my bachelor’s degree in some type of Biology. (Human, Cell, etc.) Like I said before I know nothing about any Texas University or Community colleges. I would ideally like to attend a University but with me finding out this whole moving to Texas thing a day ago, the College application window has closed for most Universities. I know that another year of Community College is a possibility but it is not ideal for my future studies (Medical school). If anybody cloud give any insight about Universities in Texas that would be greatly appreciated.

My academic standings here at my local Community College

  • I took 44 credits my Freshman year and maintained a 4.0 in all courses
  • I have many reputable professors that I could get LOR from
  • I am a Nationally licensed EMT (Emergency medical technician)
  • My High school academics where average (Nothing special at all)

I would send out a flurry of emails to schools to see if they may still accept applicants. What were your college test scores and HS GPA? That may help narrow your search.

Good luck!

Why are you transferring instead of finishing out in MI?

According to Michigan State at https://reg.msu.edu/roinfo/notices/Residency.aspx , you may be able to retain Michigan residency for tuition purposes based on your attendance at and graduation from a Michigan high school. (But check to see if other Michigan public universities have any different rules.)
