Texas Universities - Business Major

Hey CC Posters :)

I think I have narrowed down to a few specific uni’s for finance major possibly. I will list the colleges in order of interest. If you are familiar with these texas uni’s please feel free for any input (why this college would be better than that, etc)

Texas A&M University - Overall great university, plus I’ve lived here for over half of my life. I’d save money going here by living in the house w/ parents.

University of Texas - I actually prefer this the most, I am sure some of you are suprised why this isn’t #1. Bc it would be harder for me to get into and going to a&m or UT for a degree shouldn’t make THAT much of a difference

University of Texas @ Dallas - Seems like a good school, I wouldn’t mind going here.

University of Houston - Good business department, very diverse.

Texas Tech University

Texas State University

pretty similar to mine, TCU and SMU should be on there.

I think UT should be your goal. If you can get in, it would be good to live away from home, and the business school is clearly superior to the other Texas programs. UTDallas isn't even in the same league as Tech, A&M and UT. It has some good programs, but is still largely a commuter school. SMU is expensive and not worth the money for a Texas resident who can go to A&M, UT or Tech, in my opinion.

UT and A&M are NOT on the same level - UT is a much better school, especially for business - besides, College Station sucks. Cox is the 2nd best b-school in the state, IMO.

Change of mind, im taking out Texas State and UT Dallas. Adding in UT Arlington.

Thanks for your feedback.

Please don't live at home...you'll miss out on so much.
