Texas vs Pitt

I'm struggling to know which school is better.
Both are great school with very similar academics though Texas has more recognized reputation.
I planned to major in Athletic Training and eventually do health or sport related jobs such as physical therapist.
I know Pitt's health related majors are great, so I assume Pitt has nice Athletic Training program. I don't really know about Texas' health programs.
I can save about $12000 at Pitt by the time I graudate but money isn't a big issue for me, but payng less is always better than paying more
Weather isn't an issue also, since I've never lived in
a place with nice weather so I don't even know how good it feels to be living in a place with nice weather.
Austin and Pittsburgh offer ample opportunities to play, eat, and chill but Austin seems to be a better place to live.
Texas has more than 30000 undergraduate students, Pitt has about 17000.
So.. What do you think?
It seems like I leaned toward to Pitt, but I really love both school.
Help me out! :)

i think its gonna come down to how many kids are in your class, at texas their will probably be 200-300 students if you favor smaller classes go somewhere else

but then again i got CAPd so i may not be biased lol

Both schools have really good athetic programs too which would offer you some good internship opportunities, but i believe that Texas has a better overally athletic department. I dont know a whole lot about the athletic training program specifically but im sure it is well respected because almost every major at Texas is.

if you want to work in texas go to texas if not PITT

Let me start by saying that my daughter got into PItt and UT. Pitt was a safety school. UT a bit of a reach. I think that says a lot. While Pitt has made strides up the rankings in recent years(sports has helped that a lot) Texas is more highly regarded with its national reputation. As I suggested to my daughter, go to the highest ranking school you can, that you will be happy at. I think that is sound advise.

While Pittsburgh has done alot to improve as a city, I love the art museums, Austin as a college town and capitol, blows it away. Add in weather and ranking, and the Answer is UT far and away. I understand the financial component, so good luck with this.

If UT is $3000 more per year and this is not a big stretch for you and your family, I would pick UT. UT is great, and Austin is a wonderful city for your college years.

We live in Cleveland. When my daughter visited UT in February 2008, the sun was shining and people were swimming in the outdoor pool or walking around campus in shorts and flip flops. It was gorgeous. I had wanted my daughter to go look at UWashington, where there was a nice program in her major and she had been accepted to the honors program, but she was not interested in visiting Seattle after spending a long weekend in Austin (especially not after coming back to the cold and snow).

If there were a big price difference and finances were important to you and your family, I’d vote for Pitt. It’s a great school too.

Pitt is actually better known for anything in the health sciences and, in the only study of athletic training program ranking that I am aware of, it [was ranked 5th in the nation]( http://www.hiceducation.org/edu_proceedings/Toby%20L.%20Dore.pdf</a> ). Pitt also interns their students out to the pro teams in the area, like the Steelers, which they share facilities with. Pitt isn’t much of a safety. It’s incoming average SAT and ACT scores are actually slightly higher than UT’s.
