<p>I got a text from Purdue yesterday about a battery and robbery at Tarkington Hall.
Does this happen a lot or is just a rare occasion?
Is purdue generally a safe environment?</p>
<p>I got that text too, actually i got 2 of the texts about the battery and robbery, and i got one that just said go to purdue.edu.</p>

<p>This year seemed to have a lot of problems like this… To be honest, when I was there last year nothing like this really happened. This year there seems to be everything from armed robberies too.</p>
<p>Everybody else get the text about the robbery tonight. Purdue is supposed to be really safe too isn’t it?</p>

there have been a lot this year. It’s getting kind of weird now</p>
<p>While it’s interesting to get an idea of crime on/near the campus and while I like the idea of being informed…my son is NOT there right now and the text was a big annoying. May have to call on Monday and see about getting my number removed.</p>
<p>I’m not familiar with the campus. Does anyone know if this armed robbery was actually on campus or in a nearby neighborhood?</p>
<p>Google and you will find crime happens at most universities.</p>
