Textbook and financial aid

I am a bit confused on how to buy textbooks if I have financial aid. I was given about 17,000 in scholarships/grants. So does that cover all my textbook costs? Or, do I have to pay for books out of pocket?

See my post here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-los-angeles/923461-applying-financial-aid-towards-housing.html

Depending on how much financial aid you’re getting and what classes you’re taking, you may or may not have to pay out of your pocket.

(BTW, next time, I suggest you don’t make too many separate threads.)

If you have extra financial aid it gets deposited in your bank account, so yes, you will pay out of pocket.
