Textbook for AP Computer Science?

Hey guys! Next year I'll be taking AP Comp Sci, but without any previous computer programming experience. I heard the class is a bit fast paced from past students, so I would really like to get my basics down over the summer. Does anyone know which textbook is the absolute best for introductory learning in computer science? Has anyone had experience with this?

Thank you for any advice!

I advise you to learn through java tutorials from the sun microsystems website. I am taking a java course and it helped me a lot !!

I used Java Concepts. [Big Java / Java Concepts](http://horstmann.com/bigjava.html)
I used another book as well, but I can’t remember the title. I’ll try and find out what that was.

i never used a physical textbook, we used the blue pelican textbook, very helpful( but it has some stuff that you don’t need to know since they discontinued comp sci AB)
