Textbook for AP Language and Comp

What textbook do you guys recommend for me to buy in order to self-study the subject? Any study guide book would be great too (I heard Bedford is really good)

thanks

Princeton Review

k. thanks :)

The Language of Composition is a textbook designed specifically for the AP exam. Its first two or three chapters provide a good introduction to rhetorical analysis and the synthesis essay, and its collection of essays is excellent.

Use the CliffsAP book for practice tests.

okay awesome! thanks for all the input :)

get the cliff’s notes. I’m not too good at English Lang/Comp and I got a 5. The practice tests are very similar to the real AP tests and there are 6 of them. Btw, I didn’t self-study. I don’t think you need a textbook because we had the Language of Composition but we didn’t use it much (1 month or so in total). Oh, and I suggest you go to your English Lang/Comp teacher and ask for MC practice tests (they usually have some if there is a Lang/Comp class at your school). One last thing - you should practice the FRQ’s. The practice will make a huge difference. Hope this helps! Good luck!

The Language of Composition is a great AP English Language textbook. Like Keasbey Nights said, the essays are excellent.

Consensus on CC is CliffsAP. Personally and from experience, you don’t need one as long as you’ve been in semi-decent honors/AP English classes throughout HS and done well.

CLIFFNOTES.

Although the review books are useless in IMO. I did not learn anything this year and I felt the AP lang exam was very very easy (I got 5).

Just a mix of CR + Essays

is the language and composition this book?: [The Language of Composition: Reading, Writing and Rhetoric, Books : Half.com](<a href=“Electronics, Cars, Fashion, Collectibles & More | eBay”>Electronics, Cars, Fashion, Collectibles & More | eBay)
