Textbook for Calc

I know a lot of students like to wait until their first lecture/meeting to figure out whether or not to buy a textbook. Should I buy the calc III textbook now in hopes of saving money or is it not very useful? What about gen chem (130)?

Buy both now

It’s like a nightmare tryign to find these books … any help/tips lol… tried searching for title and isbn

Also… say for math/science classes do you suggest I rent out the textbooks instead of buying them used? or persay at least the lab books

MDE, they have the Calc 3 book (presuming they haven’t changed it in the last couple of months) available for download here: http://umichbooks.wikispaces.com/</a>

Gen Chem I can’t find.

By the way, I’ve updated all the links, so they should all be working now.

calc III textbook is EXTREMELY useful. i never took any notes in class cuz it has all the problems and solutions in the book, definitely get it.
A friend even kept the book for reference purposes cuz its so awesome

wow online copy… hmm

^print it out since u got like 2000 pages.

nice job qwerty :)

the book online is the same book for calc 3 unless i made a mistake. the book online is calculus:early transcendentals and the book for class is multivariable calculus

the books are different but cover much of the same material so it is probably still useful.

Checking the book, I think it should be exactly the same starting with chapter 12 until chapter 16. The only difference should be that the material in the book on the site includes calc 1 & 2 material from Ch 1 to 11.

No, bad spammer! Buying textbooks is a thing of the past because of my website which I posted above.

do the professors give the homework out of the book or from another source. Would the problems in the text be the same or would you have to hunt down a friend to “borrow” a book to do your homework?

The problems should be all the same as the other general Stewart calculus versions that you’d buy online. U of M’s version (that you’d buy at the bookstore) for some reason is slightly different, most questions are the same, but a few may be different. At least it was when they were using the 5th edition.
