textbook question...

I know that this probably depends on the prof and the class, but thought I'd ask anyway: what's the likelihood that I'll need my textbook for the first few days of class?

Just checked student central two days ago to see that I have a new book I need to buy. I want to see if I can get it used at the student bookstores around Franklin St before I buy a copy off B&N...thought I'd check Franklin St out Sunday. In the event that the bookstores don't have my book B&N probably won't have it shipped to me for another week. Is that too long a wait and should I just order it now through B&N (or the student bookstore to be picked up)?

Also, the class is MATH 118 (Selected Topics in Mathematics) and the prof is Pike (Brian).

Thanks!

Something my son learned after his first semester was not to buy his books until after the first day of class. For some reason, many of his professors ended up not using the books listed. Then he had to return ones and buy others. So now he waits until he is sure. Don’t know if that helps.

You won’t need the books the first few days of classes unless otherwise noted by the prof.
