My school uses World Civilizations: The Global Edition but I've heard some very negative things about it, in particular that it is biased, contains an excess of opinions, has little to no chronological dates, and is "Euro-dismissive". What other textbooks would you recommend that can be used to efficiently prepare for both the AP World History class and exam?

The Earth and Its Peoples: A Global History. This is what my school used. I relied on this more than PR and it helped me receive a 5 because MC became common sense and it provided dense information on last year’s prompt.

Nice, but that thing is a tad bit TOO expensive…any cheapter but great ones?? Haha.

[Amazon.com: Bulliet, Earth And Its Peoples Advanced Placement 4th Edition (9780618771486): Richard W. Bulliet, Pamela Kyle Crossley, Steven W. Hirsch, Lyman L. Johnson, Daniel R. Headrick: Books](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0618771484/ref=oss_product)

And this is AP edition.

Thanks. I’ll be looking into that immediately. But I don’t have access through online transactions so I’m going to have to pick it up at Barnes and Noble or something…is it roughly still around $35…? The online database says otherwise…

Meanwhile would you recommend this book:

Strayer, Robert W. Ways of the World: A Global History. Boston: Bedford/St. Martins, 2009.

As recommended by the CollegeBoard?
