Textbooks.com for used textbooks?

My DD was looking into buying used textbooks from textbooks.com. It seems like their prices are pretty good. It just seems like they list most of the books as good/excellent. Has anybody used this site for their books. Just want to know if it's dependable and if the books are in the condition they claim.

My DD used half.com and amazon. The nice thing about amazon…she both bought and sold, and just had a running account there. She was able to find used books with no difficulty.

One piece of advice…spend the small amount extra so the books will be sent any other way but book rate. My DD selected book rate one time, and her book didn’t arrive until midway through the semester (not amazon…some other vendor). By that time, she had bought another used copy.

I’ve purchased from Textbooks.com for Lake Jr. this past academic year and I am very satisfied with the service. The product descriptions are accurate and they are very upfront about shipping fees, while they do offer free shipping several books. Good prices. Not always the cheapest but competitive prices and books in very good condition.

Also, for books that will not be held on to, think about renting books. Our kids have had good luck with that. Amazon even pays for return shipping at semester’s end.
