I am thinking about taking the AP Language and Composition test next year and was hoping some CCers could tell me what text books or anthologies they used in their classes. The class is offered at my school but it doesn't fit into my schedule so I think I will be able to do independent study. Thanks!

there isn't really any way to study. writing usually comes natural. but what my class used was prose style, the lively art of writing, and the black bedford (brown too). also consider using Cliff's AP English Language and Composition review book. i would also recommend reading a lot for the mc. good luck on ur studies

thanks. anyone else?

should i focus on reading non-fiction?

i've heard yes

buy sth like the norton reader. it has essays of various styles. we were required to buy that for AP english

bump......

we had the norton reader but we read only 4 essays from the book. just try to get a good review book for it

The AP Lang test is changing next year....

ya, I heard about that

what do you mean? how is it changing?

It's going to be a research synthesis essay.

It sounds like it's going to be kind of like a DBQ.

it pretty much is but those in an ap history will find it easy like me

assuming you can understand the complexity of journalism/business jargon sometimes featured in the documents
