Textbooks for..

Hey there, I figured I'd start a thread that focuses on what textbook is sufficient for whatever class though I doubt this will get much responses.

Anyway, for my own purposes, I want to confirm the books for two classes this fall: Math 31B and Chem 20A, Kucherenko and Scerri respectively.

I know that the books needed for these two classes are specifically Single Variable Calculus (2nd print) and Principles of Modern Chemistry (6th edition), by Rogawski and Oxtoby respectively, but does anyone know if the 5th edition will be acceptable for Chem 20A?

Any responses will be appreciated.

usually you can use old editions unless there is a big update in the newest edition. save yourself some money and get the older edition if you’re tight on funds.

check uclastore.com to list all your books and use the firefox script to extract the isbn numbers from that site. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/5117879-post1.html</a></p>

Yep - older editions are usually fine - but don’t get any books until you know you’ll actually need them - I can’t tell you how many books I bought that I never even opened.

Will do gentlemen, thanks for the comments. Hopefully this will clear up some questions people may have as well.
