Textbooks that include an on-line access code

<p>ordinarylives, well, no, we wouldn’t buy the more expensive bundled way, but always pick up a used copy of the actual book even if e-text is free with course, as it sometimes is. I may have slightly misread your post, sorry.</p>

<p>Lake Jr. dislikes e-books also, but we came up with an option that still saved money on this year’s Organic Chemistry course. After investigating the differences between editions, we bought used, clean copies of the prior version of the Chemistry textbook and required solutions manual at about 20% of the price of a new copy of the latest edition. Additionally, Lake Jr. purchased an access code from an online seller at a pretty good discount. The access code includes a digital copy of the newest version of the textbook. In total, Lake Jr. got everything he needed for the course and didn’t have to settle for the ring-binder edition that was on sale at the university bookstore. He got a hardbound edition and the online component for just about 1/2 the cost of the bundle at the university bookstore.</p>
