textbooks: the same for the math + chem sequences?

I've been talking to several upperclassmen and they've said that the textbooks you use in Math 20A or Math 20B can carry you throughout the whole series (same goes for Chem 6a-c). So I was wondering; since I don't want to buy more textbooks in the future, is there a textbook in math and chem that i can buy right off the bat that'll last me well into the series?

Originally I thought that buying Rogawski's Calculus Early Transcendentals Bundle (full Text+sv Soln Ma.+mv Soln Man)was a good buy since it has both MV and SV content, but I don't know what Math20C students are using, so i don't know if it'll help me next quarter. Same goes for chem, I'm planning on getting Atkin's
Chemical Principles Bundle (text+soln. Man.+ucsd Flyer), 4 Edition. Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated :)

You have to buy the TEXTBOOK Calculus Early Transcendentals to use it for math20a, 20b, and 20c. There's this little version going around that's has "single variables" on the cover and that's for math20a & math20b only. You can't use that little book for 20C so if you're not planning to take the third one, get the single variables one.

i heard chemistry principles 4th edition gets you through chem6a-c. i wouldn't buy the workbook or whatever the thing is because i heard you don't even have time to use it throughout the course
