textbooks.

do any current ucsb students know how to find out what textbooks are needed for winter quarter classes? i'm thinking it would be cheaper to order them online instead of waiting to buy them from the campus bookstore, right?

I think there's a page here, but it doesn't have winter info yet:

<a href="http://www.bookstore.ucsb.edu/coursematerial/textinquiry/textlookup.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.bookstore.ucsb.edu/coursematerial/textinquiry/textlookup.html</a></p>

You could also try emailing the professors from the classes you've enrolled in.

If you decide to order online, you may want to try buying some used books from students themselves:

why isn't that listing up yet? how long into the quarter can i go without textbooks?

Maybe they're trying to force you to use their bookstore instead of buying books in advance online, that's my best guess. You can probably get by the first couple lectures but otherwise you'll need books pretty quickly.
