Hi guys
I’m an incoming freshman and I was wondering how do we get textbooks for classes? Do we buy them in advance or wait until we actually move in? Is there a list posted somewhere other than the BC Bookstore website? I was getting kind of worried knowing we’re two weeks out…
Thanks
The books for each class are posted on the bookstore website, including ISBN, so you can order from the bookstore or on your own on Amazon or a discount website. In order to find the right books, you have to know your course number and section number. It’s a bit tedious, but not complicated.
Also, you can email your professors and ask what text they’ll be using. Some of us have our syllabi done by now, but others may not. We do know what book we’re using, though. Then, you can go to Amazon, half.com or other sites to buy. You might save quite a bit of money - textbooks can be very pricey. Welcome aboard and good luck!
I would definitely wait to buy textbooks until the first week, and wouldn’t buy them from the bookstore. Renting them online is a lot cheaper and pretty convenient.
