Is it better to buy textbooks now online than buying during welcome week?

If you buy them right now just make sure they are the right books. I like to buy them when im in berkeley rather than online cause its easier to get refunds if they are the wrong books.

But where can you get a good price? Any good used textbook places? I don't want to end up at the Student Store, shelling out more than $300 on books.

www.abebooks.com is pretty cheap

When you get to cal you can go to http://www.comegetused.com/ But I've only shopped at the student store, Neds, and barnes and Noble. You can try amazon.

I want to order books online and ahve them ship to my house but I'm thinking this might be a risk because I'm gonna be moving into Cal in about 9 days. I would choose expedited shipping but still...don't know if it's the wisest thing to to do.

So there ARE cheap places to actually buy books while we're there right? I dont want to have to resort to the student store, buying brand new books for so much.

Thanks!

Yeah you can just do it once you get to school. Shipping in 9 days is iffy; besides expedited shipping for textbooks can be a lot of money. Use comegetused.com and just do the exchange with the sellers on campus; buy used at Ned's/Student Store; or just order them online but send to your dorm.

Where's a good place to post a used text book for sale? My son took Math 53 as a high school student & wants to sell the book..I've posted on craigslist and I'm not sure where else I could post. Thanks

Comegetused.com would definitely work.

I tried comegetused.com but neither of us has an email address that ends in .edu so we can't register there to sell the book (My son school doesn't even have orientation at his new school until Sept 17..and he won't get his school email til then). We may just have to go over to the bookstore and sell it back to them.

I have bought and sold successfully on amazon.com in the past. every book I have offered for sale has sold quickly.

Thanks! We'll try that.

Is the Math 53 textbook custom? Because when I went to the student store to check it out, the label read "Math 53 CUSTOM" and I couldn't find the ISBN online (on both amazon and comegetused)...

The outside cover doesn't say custom but the table of contents says "Custom Contents". The ISBN number is 0-534-20027-3
