when can we find out what books we need? its not @ the bookstore website or myucla.

Textbooks for some classes are on the bookstore website. It just depends on when the professor submits the list.

already bought 3/4.....$80 compared to $200 wohooo

Go on the syllabus for the class on the class webpage if it's up.

Then do yourself a favor: Buy them on Half.com or other online sellers. BUY THEM USED.

Trust me.

and don't buy them USED in UCLA Store....

Exactly!!!

if you're buying used from UCLA, might as well buy new from online for usually even cheaper.

i never buy from UCLA unless i cant find it anywhere online. theres also a bookstore in westwood that sells used (and some new) textbooks.

i know this may not be absolutely relevant, but don't your books get delivered to your dorm if you order it from UCLA?

u can't walk from your dorm to the UCLA store?

No, they don't deliver the books...

And new from UCLA is not too bad.

ucapplicant,

You = crazy.

to citan: i can walk. but i thought the delivery was part of the service if we ordered it from UCLA. guess i was wrong.

New from UCLA can be very, very bad.

Maybe not for Penguin novels which sell for the same price everywhere, but texts? Never, ever.

why is new very bad? it's.. new, hence in good condition?

Very, very expensive. Needlessly so.

All the books I've looked at were at or below the publisher's list price...

I usually paid far less on Half.com or other comparable sites.

it pains me to think that people are still buying textbooks (or anything) from the UCLA store...

I bought the Royce Hall litho diploma frame there. Monopolies FTL...

i bought a UCLA sweatshirt at steve and barrys for $8...the same **** they sell at UCLA Store for $52
