anyone kno where to find specific textbooks for ur class? or is that only available starting first day of class? o.O

Go to the Wash U bookstore site. Then you type in your classes, and it tells you the books you need. Then you can order them through the bookstore, or find them someplace else.

when should we buy our books? Do people usually get them early in August before coming to campus?

You could buy them now if you're sure about taking a class - I bought one book already that our bookstore doesn't have used stock of, and saved $70. Check out http://www.wusource.com/textbooks.php for a cheap book search. Make sure to check out the bookstore first for the book. If you can't find your course on the bookstore's site, go to WebSTAC, find your course, and see if the course is listed under other course/department numbers as well.

ok so i went to the WashU online bookstore thing and i typed in my classes and it listed the books that i needed for each class. but i just wanted to make sure, the books they list are the current ones the profs will use for the upcoming school year right? i dont want to order them all just to have them be all wrong.

also does anyone kno if amazon is where most students get their textbooks or do they buy them directly from WashU?

right now im ordering from amazon but i havent placed my order yet cuz i wanted to ask if the mail boxes an incoming freshman gets would be able to fit like 7 textbooks, or if amazon is shipping my books would they put them in my mailbox or just put them outside my dorm room?

nope, your mailbox won't fit them, they're tiny. You'll get a slip saying you have a package (which i think they email to you now?), and you go pick it up at the mailroom window, next to the mailboxes.

I buy most of my books online from Amazon & Half through WUsource (except for classes that use a few $15 books instead of textbooks, then it's not worth it), and the bookstore has no problem buying them back as long as it's the same edition as the books they're already buying back.
