Textbooks?

Hi,

I'm going to attend the Dean's orientation tomorrow, and before I do I just wanted yo ask all you current UCR students how you go about purchasing textbooks. What I mean by that is...do all of you guys just buy them from the book shop and sell it back when your done? I'm sure there is some sort of network where u guys cut out the "middleman" so to speak and just communicate back and forth to buy and sell books...does it work like that? Do the books change for a class every quarter like newer editions and such? Sorry for so many questions im kind of out of the loop seeing as im a commuting student and dont have the luxury of being on campus and talkin to students if I was dorming. Thanks for ur help.

uh most people buy their books at the book store or the UBE (which is on watkins, across the street from lothian). there's no "book swap" network like in other schools. Editions change VERY frequently. I remember not being able to sell back my psych. book because the editions changed. they probably don't change every quarter, but they do it often enough. you can sometimes find books from other students if they post it up on the school boards or send you emails.

where can i find these "school boards" on campus?

its posted around randomly.

textbookz.com

buy my books! Well even if you did. I can't ship them to you since I'm in HK :)

The last resort is to buy a book new from the UCR Bookstore.
