Textbooks

The bookstore says the Fall textbooks will be available beginning the week of July 23 - 30 at the earliest.

You can save a lot of money by looking up the books at either http://www.billsbookstore.com/ or http://www.efollett.com (lookup FSU) and then checking the Internet for cheaper prices on used books. Be careful to get the correct edition since they don't tell you the ISBN number online. The Internet websites to use are http://www.cheapesttextbooks.com/ or http://www.isbn.nu/ which both check various sites on the web for the lowest price available.

FSU is very nice because they will put any leftover scholarship money right into your FSUID Suntrust checking account including the $300 FAS book allowance. Some schools make you use the college bookstore with your FAS book money.

Just make darn sure you buy the correct book for the course. :)

Yes, if you wanted to be absolutely sure, you could visit the bookstore and write down the ISBN numbers from the books.

If you think you will be changing your schedule or that a professor may not actually require the book, you might not want to order books ahead of time over the Internet. You do have to take into consideration the shipping time if you are worried that you might not have your book on the first day of class.

Also, some courses like economics ECO2013 or ECO2023 require you pay for web sites like http://www.aplia.com/ or buy a new copy of a software package that requires an unused key like CGS2100 does. You really don't have any option to save money in these cases.

Also, if you can find a used book that works, buy it. Shop early for the best selection.

Both the University Bookstore and Bill's Bookstore have started to list the Fall textbooks now.

The kids ratings @ rate my Professor give a pretty good assessment of how the book was used. In many cases the book wasn't used at all for the course. We also found the rating for specific professors and courses to be some really good information not only on the prof, but study suggestions, note taking ect. I didn't know about this site until about 2 weeks ago.
