Textbooks

When do you suggest we start buying our textbooks? Should we purchase the "required" ones now (which I found on the myUCF schedule's link), or wait until after meeting with our professor and getting their syllabus? Also, how does purchasing the books work with the $300 stipend from Bright Futures?

Thanks! :)

I always wait to see what the professor says. It's not like you miss that much if you don't have it the first day and there's always the possibility they don't bother with it. I just don't want to bother with going back to return it. If you don't mind returning it buy it now and if it's new don't open it till you know you need it.

BF won't give you the money until after Sept 5 when tuition and such is due.

So you will probably have to buy the books and then just get paid back.

if you decide to buy, check amazon.com first. I found almost all of my books there for considerably less than at the ucf bookstore.

The part about waiting for the syllabus is interesting though, I hadn't thought of that.

half.com is pretty good as well.
