Textbooks

I am an incoming freshmen and was wondering how I could find out what textbooks my classes will be using.(MATH 118X OR 125 as an Econ major). Tried looking everywhere in my department website, but had no luck.

Please let me know.

Your customized booklist will be published online on your Oasis. https://camel2.usc.edu/OASIS/Login.aspx</a> Instructions here: [Trojan Bookstores](http://www.uscbookstore.com/sections/students/index.php?action=tip_getting_booklist) It doesn’t appear until about two weeks before classes start. All the isbn numbers are listed, so it makes online shopping a bit easier - reduces the chances of getting the wrong edition. If you ARE shopping online, be SURE to double and triple check that you have the right edition and that the numbers match.

I recall last year that the bookstore offered a service where they would pull all your books and deliver them to your dorm by the first day of classes - maybe someone used that service and can comment on it.

There are lots of used textbook sources - we used Amazon Marketplace. Other posters will have great suggestions for several others. I also get emailed coupons from Borders - 30% or 40% off a single item - and I was VERY surprised to find they worked on a new textbook costing $180 (it was a new edition and unavailable used), bringing the cost down to $108 (w/free shipping).

theres this great website called chegg.com, and you can buy, sell, and rent books! whats even better about this websiite though, is that for every book you purchase, sell, or rent, they plant a tree to help the environment. cool huh?

I’ve found the best site to price compare is [BookFinder.com: Search for New & Used Books, Textbooks, Out-of-Print and Rare Books](http://www.bookfinder.com)
Click show more options and always search by isbn.

On another note, I believe they use Essential Calculus by James Stewart for Math 125 but I’m not totally sure. Its what they used for 126 and what I used for 226.

how much should we expect to spend on textbooks? (marshall student)

Regarding ordering books in advance from the USC bookstore, my D did this last year, requested mostly used books. The books were all put aside and ready, and D picked them up from the bookstore (they were not delivered to the dorm).
USC buys books back also. She got about $200 back at the end of second semester. It helped.
