So I didn't do the textbook pre-order thing because I was told that it was unnecessary and I was just wondering when we'll know what books to get? Also what are some good places to order those books aside from the obvious ones like Amazon and half-price books etc. Thanks!

They’re out today. Go to the NYU bookstore website, click “Textbook inquiry and ordering,” select Fall 09, put in your NYU ID number and birthday, and it shows all your books for all your classes.

Thanks, I wouldn’t have known how to get there otherwise.

But umm… what the? My WTE class wants like 15 books, says they’re all required, though I doubt that really. Does anyone know which ones I actually desperately need? :(

edit: actually it seems to be a combination of my conv/WTE class. =__=

Wow that’s a lot of books… Maybe some of them you can get at the library when you need them instead of buying them. I’m freaked out because both my dramatic writing classes “require no materials”…that doesn’t sound right to me.

For those of you who have Regular Chemistry, what’s an ARIS card? The textbook (Chemistry by Silberberg) apparently has to ocme with an ARIS card and lecture notes, but I can’t find any real mention of that card onthe internet. Caqn I assume it comes with every copy of Chemistry by Silberberg (assuming a recent edition)?

^ you can buy the aris card separately from the textbook.

the aris cards and notes were written by the professor apparently.

Usually, many upperclassmen sell their books after taking the relevant courses. If you search for the Facebook group NYU Undergraduate Book Exchange, you’ll find postings and listings of all books available for sale at ridiculous mark-downs from retail.
