Textbooks

i tried logging onto the page that tells you what books you need for the classes you registered for, but for all my classes it just says information not available. does anyone know how else i can find out what books i need ahead of time?

the books will be on bookstore website on august 8th

Do you think if I logged on on the 8th and ordered used books on the Internet, I could get them before move-in day? I'm going to try and do that.

guess what guys ... textbook list for me is out!

Same here....mine's online too!

Whoa, they have one of my classes wrong! My list has EE-106 on it when I'm registered for 105, plus the instructor's name is different! What should I do about that??

My classes are right, but most of the instructors are different; I'm wondering what to do. I tried looking up instructors on senatecourseguide.com and I couldn't find them. Could someone please help.

omg i have to buy SO many books. coming from a quarter system, im not used to having to buy this many!!! for engl 261 alone, TEN books!
sigh....$$$ the like 10 more for my other classes :(

does this mean tomorrow we can go to the bookstore to buy all the books?

i believe so

There always seems to be one prof that is messed up on the booklist. Usually I find that the prof's name for one class, is also listed for another (which is wrong). Don't worry about it. Just check out your web registration and you'll see which prof you signed up for.

I definitely recommend getting as many books as you can from Amazon, etc. It'll save you a ton of money. Just try to make sure that you get the same edition of the book, as that could make a difference in your class.

It might be cutting it close to order books online, but you can always still do that, and have your family mail your books to you if they don't make it on time. You probably can get them on time, if the shipper is quick about it. And if you're an English major like me, you can always wait to get your syllabus in class, see the order of the books you are reading, go buy the first book you're going to read for class in USC's bookstore, and buy the rest on Amazon.

yay, i ordered my books from half.com and amazon.com and saved about $100. :)

Sweet, I got to see my textbook list. Half.com and Amazon rock.

Yeah, I already used ebay and amazon for the books I could buy now.

One question. What's an RF Clicker? And can I buy it from the bookstore or anywhere else separate from my books? (my list says I'm supposed to buy it in a package with one of my books, but that pkg costs almost $200 new!!!)

i would like to buy books from half.com, but i'm leaving for band camp this sunday and im worried the books wont arrive by that time. how long does it usually take for books to arrive?

It always varies. When I was checking that for my books on Amazon, it said for regular delivery it was 4- 14 business days, and for expedite shipping it was 2- 6 business days. Most of the time in the past I've used normal shipping and it got to me pretty quickly, but of course that's not always the case.

How do you guys know which version of books to get? The booklist seems a little vague. When I looked on half.com, they had MANY versions of the same title book I was looking for.

i look at the author, the publisher. and make sure it matchs up. buy the latest edition.

Yeah, that usually works. Sometimes, though, it's hard to tell if it really is the latest edition, so if I'm not sure I'll just check out USC's bookstore, see which one they have, and then make sure I'm ordering the right one.

Sometimes the booklist will also say which edition the book is.

has anybody bought the calculus book by stewart... which is the latest edition?
