<p>Maybe I missed something while reading through the tons of mail i've been getting from CMU, but when do we order textbooks? Does that happen during orientation? Or do you go on the website and order it from your cmu account.</p>

<p>I think it varies by school. My S will be in SCS and won't officially register until the Thursday of orientation week. He's done the planning but there are still classes he's not sure he's going to be able to take this semester.</p>
<p>If you know your classes already, you can go here <a href="http://bizservweb.pc.cc.cmu.edu/inquiry/depts.aspx%5B/url%5D">http://bizservweb.pc.cc.cmu.edu/inquiry/depts.aspx</a> and see what books are required for individual classes. Then you can either order them from the school, buy them on campus or get them from a third party. </p>
<p>We've got a couple already, but will probably order the rest later so they go directly to campus and we don't have to hall or ship them there.</p>
