Is it better to buy our textbooks before we start class? We don't need books on the first day of class right? I've checked the list of books I need to buy and I'm afraid that I'll buy the wrong edition or something....

i don't think your supposed to buy all of them before you start classes.. because can't you drop/add them later any how?

you don't need to buy them before school starts but it is smarter to so you can choose the better "used" books if you want to get a cheaper price for them. Textbooks get quite expensive after a while.

Is there any way to ge the ISBN number?

I'm not really sure what is needed for Chem 1a

ankur, just go to bearfacts --> registration --> class schedule. and then near the bottom you'll see a link to "buy books." It'll take you to another page with the name and author, then just head over to half.com and buy your textbooks there. i think i saved AT LEAST 60% off the used price that berkeley was charging :)

I went to Barnes and Noble (www.bn.com) to get some books (my philosophy class requires a software + textbook package, and you can't get it used or else you won't be able to use the software or turn in assignments) and I saved a good amount being a member and all. Plus, I got free shipping and it comes in 3 business days.
