Can I buy books from the co-op in-store, or do I have to order online?

Yes, you can buy books in-store. The only disadvantage is that the coop might be out of your book and you might have to wait till they restock. This doesn’t happen often though.

I use credit cards such that my credit company gives me a line of protection in case half.com reneged on their buyer protection policy. Only once did I buy an MCAT book on ebay and the seller never sent the book. However, ebay covered and refunded the price to my account. However, different story with abebooks. bought an international edition linear algebra book. and seller sent the wrong one. When I questioned the seller, he ignores me or says “that is the correct title” (which is technically correct but WRONG author) and after repeated emails of roulette did he agree to settle to return half the price of the international edition textbook. When I emailed abebooks’ admins., they told me to go through the seller first (wait until the seller responds to my email). Only when I replied to abebooks saying that I got a book with the wrong author did the seller email back to me and say that they would refund half of my money.

oh well, I sold that wrong linear algebra book to someone else for a couple bucks of profit.

The coop offered me $4.50 online for a book that I paid them $75 five weeks ago. Are they kidding me? I would have been okay with $30-40.

What should I do? Craigslist??

Post it yourself on half.com, it sells well honestly. Usually about 50% of the price if you kept it in good condition. The trick is to buy it used and sell it used in the same condition. People will pay. Buy for $60, sell for $55, only cost you 5 bucks to use the book for a year. Well worth it.
