Textile Development and Marketing Major

Can anyone tell me about this major? How heavy is the course load of a major in textile development? and also, if you know, please tell me about the advantages of getting of textile development and marketing degree over a international trade and marketing degree.
Thanks!

Hi! I’m going to FIT for FMM this fall, so I really don’t know much about the TDM, but I can tell you it’s a smaller major and not as competitive as FMM.

FIT has a 2+2 curriculum. This means that you earn an associate’s degree in two years, and then a bachelor’s in two as opposed to four. So, you’ll graduate FIT (if on track) in four years but with two degrees. They can be in two different majors, just not from different schools. For example, you can do TDM for your associate’s and then ITM for your bachelor’s. That would actually be the way to do it, since you can apply to ITM for bachelor’s only. You can’t do TDM for associate’s and then switch into Fine Arts for a bachelor’s. You can do whatever you like unless it’s within the same school! The true benefit is that you would have two degrees by the time you graduate!
