Williams....awesome !!!!
did you apply as an international or a citizen?

Drink, hehe, thank youuu! I'm sooo excited about college! :) Applied as international. Where are you attending this fall??

Congrats valecollegorian on UPenn and Losoland on Cornell! :)

I wish I'm going to somewhere this fall, but
I'm still in high school and will apply this coming year :)

Drink, best of luck then! :) I'm sure you'll do fabby with your college apps - where are you planning to apply to?

I'm not really sure now where i wanna go
Maybe I'll apply to some of HPYM coz they are nedd-blind for intls but sooooooo hard to get in, though
and Williams and Middlebury are need-blind for intls too
and maybe Swarthmore, U penn, Harvey Mudd, Rice, Whitman, Brown, Wash U in st.louis, etc..........oh my god, my choice(of applying) are so random (and almost all are the reaches for me)
and i'm freaked out now coz if i can't narrow it down, i'm gonna be applying to like 20 schools

Do you have any advice?

If these universities that u listed offer need-blind aids, then I think it makes sense if you apply to many of them, just to try your luck for the aid..... don't worry if you apply to too many schools. Well, the most i think i can handle is 20. 5555. The school doesn't know if you apply to any other places. The only things that matter are if you are willing to pay the application fees and if you are willing to do the applications for each schools.

Applying to colleges is really a stressful thing...but remember...you'll eventually end up somewhere and settle down. By the time you're in college, the ranking of colleges won't matter anymore.....

I did apply for 20 schools without the need of financial aid. I admit that I spent more than 4 months (including thinking about essays) on my applications. The first ten that I applied (OMG) were Harvard, Yale, Cornell, Princeton, and such the similar hard colleges. Later, I found out that all the extremely prestigious places I previously applied didn't really catch my heart, so I applied to ten more.

Believe it! I got into all nine of those I applied the second time, and got into two among those I applied the first time. Later then I found out that I shouldn't have applied to the first ten at all and I felt sorry for having spent that much money on the waste.

My college choices did vary from MIT (Big, hard core technology) to Bowdoin (Small, liberal art college). And I went to all interviews offered (4 interview including Tufts, Dartmouth, MIT, Princeton, among these I only got into Tufts). Umm... now I'm proud of having the skills to sense what admissions want as well.

I don't recommend you to do 20 applications unless you plan to use some type of 'common' applications and essays (like that of UC or the common applications). Just see the type of the college, and the quality in your field of interest before thinking about money, your choices will get narrow easily. let me know if u need help.

And remember you should begin your college apps early. But never rush to submit them. I would always feel sorry for rushing my apps in the first place before later finding out that they looked like garbage.

Hi, I'm half-Thai.

nice to meet u guys
