I gave my teachers recommendations about a month ago, and I didn't know when to write them thank you cards. I supposed that they would tell me when they were done with the them, and then I could write the cards, but I think they probably just didn't tell or are not planning to tell me when. I would like to than them...but is it awkward just to randomly give them a thank you card now?
Maybe I should combine it with a happy holidays card? But then do I have to give all my teachers happy holidays cards even if they didn't write me recs?
Stupid question, I know. But I'm not too great on etiquette for stuff like this!

I don’t think it’s a stupid question. Nothing’s a stupid question when it comes to admissions, really :$

I would give them a thank you card for sure. If they did it, good, thank you! If they didn’t… it’s a nice wake-up call (without being rude) and somewhat flattering, very polite a little sucking up never did anyone any harm, imho ;)

Just give it now,
I mean I would expect that they did it already.
And if they haven’t, it’s a push to make them lolol

If you didn’t plan on sending every teacher a holiday greeting card (but IMO why not?), I think it’s OK to just send it to the ones from whom you requested recommendations. It’s a thank you card sent in the holiday season. Other teachers shouldn’t mind.

Okay thanks! That’s what I’ll do.
And maybe I’ll give cards to all of my teachers. All 10 of them:)
(Public school for you)

skip the holidays card, send a thank you card to the ones that wrote [or are writing] recs and wish them happy holidays in the thank you card.
