"Thank You For Your Recent Application, Come See the School" Email?

I submitted on November 15th, all my materials were received on the 17th. I’ve been ‘under review’ since December 15th . Does the email signal that I will be notified of my decision soon? Or is it just something everyone got? I’m just curious because it’s such a late, second acknowledgement of my applications.

i got one yesterday as well. It had the checklist video

Have you heard back yet?

I have been getting " visit cu Boulder" emails every since I submitted my application and Im still waiting for my decision

@annaleigh275 no not yet. Hopefully soon. Honestly not sure if I met the ea deadline though.

@treelights I applied 11/10 but My transcripts weren’t received until 11/22 and I was told by my admissions counselor that I am regular decision now. Maybe they aren’t sending out regular decision admission decisions until the 15th?
My status just changed to “reviewed” two days ago, so I was hoping I’d hear soon, but sounds like it stays on reviewed for a while according to other people too.

@annaleigh275 I wish they were more explicit about their early action policies. Most schools don’t care if all materials were processed. It’s about the postmark. because it isn’t really the student’s fault if the school is slow. For USC, I actually added my recommenders a week or so after the deadline, but I’m still being considered with the EA group.

@treelights I agree. It seems that CU is pretty strict about their deadlines. I was told though that they do use postmark dates so it’s very possible that my school was not on it and sent my transcripts after the deadline which may be why I am now RD.
I do wish they were faster with their admissions process though…I got accepted into CSU two days after applying.
Oh well, just hope it’s worth this wait. CU is my top school.

Are you guys OOS? I have noticed OOS students are getting accepted left and right. Check out class of 2021 official group on fb.

@flowerbear111 Yeah, I’m OOS. I applied to college of engineering though, so that might be part of the reason I haven’t heard yet.

@TreeLights what major? I applied to college of engineering too.

Aerospace engineering. I’m not sure where I stand, because my SAT is pretty far above the engineering 75th percentile, but my gpa is pretty average because I had a mid high school diagnosis of ADHD, so it’s split between like a 3.2 and a 3.9. I got a C in a stem class before that, and state colleges tend to have rigid disqualifiers. I’ll probably get into college of arts and sciences, but I won’t go unless I get into aerospace.

I am in state, pretty average stats. 3.6 gpa and 25 act. Applied to college of arts and sciences as a bio major.
Kinda worried since my stats are lower compared to a lot of people on the forum.

@annaleigh275 Your gpa is higher than mine by .1, but I got a 1520 on the SAT which is above for pretty much every school except, like MIT. I’ve heard they are much less selective in admitting to college of arts and science without major, so you’ll probably get it there.

@TreeLights that’s awesome! and thanks, still pretty bummed about my act score though. It is kind of low, but at least it is still in the mid range for CU

@annaleigh275 I couldn’t deal with the ACT. It relies to heavily on speed to measure ability, and I’m a slow reader so i decided not to take it.

Guys, DON’T compare your stats with other people’s stats on forum. Most of stats here are unrealistic. You don’t need 5.2 GPA, perfect ACT/SAT score and 100000+ community hours to get into Cu Boulder. The waiting is painful but we will find the decisions soon. I’m rooting for you!!! Best of luck!

@flowerbear111 You’re totally right haha I just can’t help it! There seem to be a lot of future engineers on this forum though. Best of luck to you as well if you are still waiting too!

Lmao, I have 500+ hours and national distinctions in service oriented leadership. Idk why people put that though, there wasn’t a place for it on the common app.

If you listen to " I have perfect gpa, perfect standard test scores, and I’m valedictorian but I’m feeling that even community college will not accept me. Call the wambulance, WAAA! WAAA! WAAA". people, you will end up canceling the application you already submitted thinking you have 0 chance.
