I was deferred from Wharton ED and had my superintendent, who knows me really well, write me an extra LOR. Today, he told me that Penn sent him a letter saying that Penn is happy to get his LOR, that his insight was valuable, and it is important to hear from people in the school that are administrators about a student. I haven’t seen the letter yet, but I am going ask to see it. However, is this typical or is this an indication. I was kind of excited, but they could do this a lot. Does anyone know? Thanks!

Is this man a alumni of Penn? That would explain the thank you letter.

No he isn't. To be honest, I don't know where he went, but I know it wasn't an Ivy.

it's a common occurrence. I had teachers who wrote reqs for me when I applied get thank you letters from various schools

Most extra rec. letters get thank you letters because they are more than the required two.

the person who wrote it for me got the exxact same letter

i sent a few extra recs. they all got the afore mentioned letter from penn.
