We leave for Ohio this week for my S's first audition at Baldwin Wallace. After all the preparation and research on his part, and all the forum time on my part, the actual journey is about to begin. I want to thank all the parents who have been on this journey and have stuck around this forum and guided all us rookies along the way. Thank you to all you students who are now in your programs who check back in and offer us the benefit of your experiences. And thank you to all the college reps who are on this forum for your knowledge and advice. Finally, thank you to all of you who in someway are in the "business" for your insight and opinions. I'm sure I speak for many that this forum has been INVALUABLE to my son and I. I cannot imagine what this would be like without all of you and this forum. This senior year has had some added trepidation attached to it. My son's beloved and wonderful choir director retired at the end of last school year. Then in August when I was waiting for the call from his voice teacher about when lesson scheduling, we received the call that after 5 years with her she was no longer taking students and was going back to teaching fulltime. It was not good timing and caused much added stress to this whole process but reading this forum always helped, feeling a part of a community that was encouraging and nurturing. THANK YOU ALL.

On another note, the first of the "lasts" has occurred. Last night was his last cross country meet. He came close to qualifying for state; thank goodness that didn't happen as it is the same weekend as the BW audition. As the season went on and his times suggested that he could be a state qualifier, I was preparing the speech for his coach on why he wouldn't be attending.

Good luck to all of you during this audition season and again, thank you to all who have helped along the way!!

Yeah, I'd also like to thank everyone too. My first audition is next friday for Elon, and without the help that I got from here, then I'd still be doing Footloose for my audition :/.

Good luck to both of you. We are also traveling to BW next weekend for my son's first audition. There is no way that we could have been as well prepared if I had not found CC. It is the most useful addiction I have ever had. The one negative is that he is all too aware of the difficult task that lies ahead as well as the very real possibility of not being accepted into a BFA program. He is ready, excited and prepared but also feeling a little stressed about the auditions on top of school and productions. Ignorance might have been a little more blissful but I prefer being informed.

Ditto the sentiments of AZKMom and jacksdad. This site, the info obtained, the support that is given.... is priceless!!! It is so nice to see a place where people are helping people. Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!! (and an special thanks to SoozieVT:) )
'Break a leg'!! to all who are beginning their auditions!!
I can't believe we are at this point already-we too are heading to BW next weekend-hope all the cc parents there can touch base. PM me if you are interested in meeting. Good Luck again!!

Wow!...sounds like BW will be busy next weekend. I can't figure out how to do the quote option but I couldn't agree with jacksdad more. CC is a wonderful addiction. My S and I have learned so much and feel prepared to start his auditions. Good luck to all and let us know how things went!

Break a leg to all of you auditioning this upcoming weekend! Have a great trip and try not to stress! I hardly feels like a year ago that my daughter started this same process...it goes fast! Good luck!!! :)

Good luck to everyone on the beginning of this year's audition season. I can't wait to welcome you to the "other side" come April. It will happen. Try to enjoy the audition trips. There are so many great options out there and many places where you (students) or your kids (parents) can thrive. Break a leg!

A little PS...as a CC parent who went through college auditions three years ago.....one fun thing is meeting up with other CC parents at auditions and so if you can connect via PM now and meet at audition day, particularly those long hours while your kids are in the audition and you are just hanging and waiting....it really is enjoyable meeting the other parents going through this same process. So, I hope the CC crowd manages to connect on the road this year.
