<p>Hello parents! I just wanted to stop in and give a quick thanks to all those who were kind enough to help me in making my college decision. <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parents-forum/485381-please-help-me-decide.html%5B/url%5D"&gt;http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parents-forum/485381-please-help-me-decide.html&lt;/a> My mailbox was literally overflowing with messages expressing advice, well-wishes, and alternating perspectives. The support I received was truly amazing.</p>

<p>In the end, I decided, thanks in a large part to the input received on CC, that attending an in-state UC was in my best interest. So, I sent in my deposit for UCLA yesterday! The call between Berkeley and UCLA was close, as both schools provided unique and polished opportunities. After careful consideration, however, I decided that the honors program and merit scholarship at UCLA gave me "ins" that no other school could. As of right now, I couldn't be happier with my choice (especially after our recent final-four run....nat'l champions '09??? ;))</p>

<p>So, once again, a HUGE thank-you to EVERYONE who lent me their support. I say this with all honesty: you gave me the confidence that I was lacking, and the perspectives I was previously blind to. </p>

<p>I will continue to keep you updated when my college journey begins next fall, but until then, best of luck with your own decisions/experiences, and GO BRUINS!</p>

<p>My son made the same decision 4 years ago. It took him 2 weeks to finally make up his mind between UCLA and Cal. He has been very happy with his decision.</p>

<p>UCLA mom: glad to hear! I'm sure I'll be sharing similar sentiments shortly! My cousin was in the UCLA band about 10-15 years ago, and she loved her experience there as well.</p>
