<p>I agree that it shouldn’t matter. I only thought of the gift thing, though, when he scheduled an overnight with a good acquaintance. He had already set up a couple of other overnights through admission offices…and it was the fact that he’d clearly bring something of value to his friend that made me think about whether it was appropriate for the overnights arranged through admission offices. And that, in turn, led me to this very helpful thread.</p>
<p>Food that can be shared makes sense because sometimes you don’t know how many other people are involved. Is it a suite, a double, or what?</p>
