So what do you suggest, one thank you for the multiple people in the room or separate thank your?

I’ve been doing separate thank yous for all the people in the room!

Oh good grief, my son won’t know who all was in the room! Would a group thank you be tacky, or better than no thank you at all? Also, his writing is atrocious, what to do?

Separate thank you’s, for sure. Could he go to the school’s website and look at pics of the faculty? That’s what my daughter did when she couldn’t remember everyone’s name.

Has anyone ever sent thank you notes via email? Thoughts?

^ that’s what I’ve been doing! I personally don’t think there’s anything wrong with it, and the only program I’ve heard back from so far, I did email notes, and I got in. So I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it, but I guess I could be wrong.

My S has sent emails and has received responses back from the faculty/auditors. I know lots of people are old school about it but so far the emails seemed well received. He didn’t even have a chance to get an email to PPU before his acceptance letter. Do they help, I dunno, but they are polite and certainly don’t hurt.

GSOMTMom - Going to the school site is a great idea! Thank goodness for e-mail!

Thanks everyone, good to know emails are ok, think we’re going that route!
Anyone know who exactly was in the room at Rider, we are still missing a few… we have Robin, Mariann Cook, Marshall Onofrio, but not sure who else, not all the profs have a pic! We were there on Jan 20th.

Does anyone know who else was in the room at CCM for the vocal and monolgues besides Aubrey Berg?

On campus this weekend? It should have been the acting teacher, Vince DeGeorge! Diane Lala and Roger Grodsky I believe were at NY Unifieds.

Letters are fine, emails are fine! You are more likely to get a personal response from an email, honestly, because it’s just an easier process. It’s the thought that counts overall. If you can’t remember everyone in the room, a group email to the department chair or head of the program stating how much you loved the experience and the wonderful faculty you met is just as acceptable. We understand it’s hard to keep track of everyone at every school, especially when you go on campus and have the opportunity to meet ALL of the faculty members.

Thanks AlexaMT for the info. Son knew one auditor for sure, the other auditions had auditors who didn’t introduce themselves. He will definitely send the e-mails to the departments when he isn’t sure of the specific auditor names.

Is it common to receive responses?

No, it’s not common to receive thank you’s for your thank you But it does happen on occasion.

The D got a thank you email for her handwritten thank you. She thought it funny. The auditor had to take the time to find and pull out her resume to get her email address. SWEET!

S has received responses to his email thanks yous from all except one school

so i guess a response is a good thing?

D has received responses for a couple of her thank you emails but not all. Doesn’t seem to be a correlation between positive school responses and thank you responses though…

MTMajorCook - Same here…the only one she didn’t receive a response from was one she was just rejected from.
