Thanksgiving at Berkeley?

Uh, so I was lazy and forgetful so I didn't try to buy plane tickets until now. But, tickets are like $300+ .... I was wondering if any of you ever spent Thanksgiving at Berkeley or any other long holiday and how was it?

they’re like 250 + to socal even if you bought it right when it was available

i never go home until christmas. it’s really silent here during that time. even more than summer (on thanksgiving day especially…I see a couple families walking around, but that’s about it). There’s really nothing to do either. Although I have more places to keep food now so I don’t have to celebrate Thanksgiving with a good ol’ cup of ramen anymore. hahah Wow that just sounds really depressing…

yup, it’s basically an empty berkeley. i think it’s probably wise to spend thanksgiving at school anyways because finals are so close and because christmas is just around the corner.

Even the homeless are at home; that’s how empty Berkeley is.

nice

You CAN, however, go to the last football game of the season against Washington that Saturday!

A couple of my friends from the east coast and I will be here in Berkeley for thanksgiving. We’ll probably hold a small get together on Wednesday night and do fun things throughout the weekend. SF is pretty lively around Thanksgiving too.

I’d be down to invite a few CCers if you’re bored out of your mind…

There were about 35 people left in Unit 1 last fall, iirc.

I just bought tickets a few days ago to SoCal for $283. It’s possible :)

It’s really not worth it imo to go home for Thanksgiving, especially since tickets will be expensive and finals are just a couple weeks after, then you’re home for a really long time. That’s why I’m going home for an early “Thanksgiving” next week, then staying here until I leave for Christmas break.
Edit: and plane tickets are $49 each way to LA if you book enough time in advance :)

uhm… next week…that’s kinda early.

err, two weeks, I forgot what day it was, haha. But anyway, it’s roughly halfway through the semester, so makes more sense to go down for cheaper then than go home for Thanksgiving when tickets are expensive and it’s only a couple more weeks until winter break anyway.

Virgin America still had reasonable fares as of last week.
