Just a note to let all of the cadets and their families know that we will be including all of you in our Thanksgiving prayer today. Please extend our thanks to your son or daughter for their selfless commitment to our great country.

Our son arrived home last night for the first time since R-day. Proud Momma is big time happy. He stayed home a good hour before heading out to hook-up with his friends. What a shocker!

The pile of disgarded clothes and gear near the backdoor attests to the transient nature of our cadet's good housekeeping skills evidenced during our visit on PPW.

Although our son has certainly changed since R-day, some things in life are constant.

Hope Thanksgiving Day finds all of you and yours in good health and joyful spirit.

We added our thanks today to all of our service men & women as well. Thinking of all of them during this holiday season. Continue to count our blessings that we have such great kids following this path. And for the parents who have sent their children out on this journey.

Healthy & Happy & Grateful we are this day indeed. Except it took a half a bottle of wine and one dropped pie to get me there! :D
I miss my kid.

Jamzmom- had hoped jamz would be home for thanksgiving- but christmas is just a short few weeks away, so hang in there girl! Just to let you know Jamz woke up to a wee bit of snow this morning- so send some hot cocoa in his next boodle box! He'll be home before you know it!

Happy holidays Navy 2010! Yep. I can wait 26 more days till he's home. It'll be like putting sharp pins in my eye but I can wait.... HA! Heard all about that snow. I asked if he got out in it since he'd hadn't seen any since he was like 8 years old. He said, wuss that he is, "Are you kidding me! I took one look at that crap and went back to bed." I thought he'd be just alittle in awe since it just adds to the holiday cheer, but apparently not. I kinda miss drinking hot chocolate after two hours of snow forts and a new snowman on the front lawn. Tis the season!! It was 70 here yesterday. :D

My cousin said that when he'd arrived up there, he had on every single piece of issued garmet the Navy had given him. What a wuss....

Thanks for the prayers. Ours are identical.

And you're right about those new habits. They're not exactly hard-wired yet. How the heck do these kids get up so early in the morning when they're away? And I didn't even get any help slicing the pumpkin pies. ;) But it was so nice of her to spend Thanksgiving dinner with us. Oh well, I guess I'll see her when we drive back to the airport on Sunday. Sure hope she's awake in the car. And none of this matters because I'm so thankful she's home.

Hope everybody's Thanksgiving was wonderful! We can start the Christmas countdown with Jamzmom.
