My son will be attending Pomona and I want to schedule his flight home to Chicago for Thanksgiving break as soon as possible. I see that classes run through Wednesday, November 23. Do most students stay on campus until Wednesday? Are the Wednesday classes often cancelled allowing students to catch an earlier flight home? Do professors frown upon students missing class on that final day before break? The airfare is so expensive and I'd like for him to be at home an extra day if at all possible. Thanks for your help.

A lot of students leave early, but I know that my freshman year I had a chemistry midterm scheduled for that wednesday. It really just depends on the class/professor you have - I’d imagine most professors are totally understanding of students leaving early though. Mine actually let me take my midterm a day early since I told him I woudn’t be there in the very beginning of the semester.
