I understand that we have Thursday and Friday off during the week of Thanksgiving. Will any classes require us to meet or require us to do anything on campus during this four day weekend? I am trying to plan my trip back home to Socal so I need to know ASAP. Anyone, please let me know what happens during these four days. Do most people stay or leave? I heard the dining halls will be closed, is this true? Thanks!

most leave and classes usually are empty even if they are held. it gets depressing to be all by yourself in the dorms

So classes and what not are held during the 4 day weekend and we are required to attend!? Isn’t that ridiculous. Are you talking about just the 4 day weekend or that whole week in general.

No, there are NO classes during that 4 day period. I think the poster above was suggesting going home instead of sticking around in Berkeley since most people go home during that time.

ALSO, some people leave early (Tuesday or Wednesday) since many classes that week are a lot more chilled out. It’s up to you. I’d suggest waiting for school to start before making plans, so you can find out when your midterms are and when you can leave. In many cases, it’s fine to leave early.

Often the GSI and professors will post their expectations and schedule for work - that will let you know what to expect around the break and whether you can safely plan to leave slightly earlier

There is almost absolutely no classes or meetings for that 4-day weekend. Actually, wait, there’s a football game that Saturday. But you get the point; Berkeley is pretty much a ghost town by Wednesday afternoon since almost everybody goes home for Thanksgiving.
