Hi, I was wondering if someone could quickly tell me whether freshmen are allowed to stay on campus over the Thanksgiving Break? I don't have anywhere else to stay so I'll have to start arranging something if not..

yes, u can stay during thanksgiving break, but u have to leave when the fall term ends

^Not true (unless the policy has changed since last year).
The dorms stay open for all of the breaks including fall break, thanksgiving break AND winter break. also spring break. most people go home for at least some of winter break but i came back just for a few days for new years and one of the the unique things is that nyu dorms stay open for winter break.

It says online that as long as you will be staying in your dorm for the following spring, you can stay. However, I believe the dining halls are closed during breaks.

Yes to Thanksgiving Break and yes to staying over winter break. Every dorm has a Thanksgiving celebration over the break, and you can sign people in during breaks, too. I slept in my room a few nights over winter break, and as long as you are staying for the spring, you can stay for the winter.

The dorms are open from fall to spring. Dining halls are closed over breaks, but you can stay in your dorm if you want. The only time you have to leave is 24 hrs after your last exam in the spring.

Wait it does not end there! You don’t really have to leave 24 hrs after your last exam. Officially you aren’t supposed to but no one checks until the day after the last group of grads have to leave which is I believe 3 days after the last day of exams. Then they start checking rooms.
