Thanksgiving

Just a note to KPer's (alumni or present) who are in the Baltimore/DC area this year, I am having Thanksgiving at home and welcome all those who are away from theirs and need a home-cooked meal. Just PM me and I will give you details. My plebe will be home (Hurrah!) and our family would love to welcome you to our Thanksgiving feast.

How awesome is that? Kathynp - you've got a great heart! That's what I like about KP parents...

I remember last year during one of the Denver Christmas Blizzards (I think there were about 100 last year), I got no less than 10 emails from KP parents and alum offering to take in a stranded plebe....

You guys are awesome. I'd invite anybody for some skiing, but there's no snow...go figure.
:)

Just wanted to take time to wish all of my "CC" buddies, KPer's and their families and friends a Happy Thanksgiving! I am sooo thankful for all of your responses on this website. It has really pulled me through a tough time with my DS away from home and me "heavy into the empty nest!" (Especially since the only verb my DS can conjugate is "Huh?" Have a great holiday everyone!!

LOL Kathy! Same to you. Have a blessed Thanksgiving, and I'm sure I see you at KP again soon :)

kathynp, you're awesome.

JRH, I hope there isn't a repeat of that mess this holiday season. Could you turn down the snow making machine some this time? :D

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Enjoy those Mids coming home today. Will keep all the families with Mids gone to sea deep in our hearts on Thursday. Wish we could send those kids all our leftovers. Would sure help out on frig space & I’m sure between all of us, we could feed crews & crews of them. We’ve much to be grateful for! We’ve got KP kids! Chins up you A-split parents! Safe travels to each & every one.

Happy Happy Thanksgiving...just heard from son that he is finally boarding flight at lga...over 5 hours late....should get home at about 0100....cannot wait to see the guy...6 months since last visit...due to sea year.......it will be a great holiday..Blesses to you all........or Ya'll as we say here

Yay.
Our little traveler arrived late as well, but arrived safely ! :)

He had a 9:30 meeting with a buddy. At 10:30 I woke him. Huuuuhhh? my watch alarm didn't go off ?!? (Personally, I think it was sleeping UNDER covers that confused his body clock ;)

Anyway, good to have him home.
Except.... where the heck did ALL the chocolate-chip cookies in the HOUSE GO ?!? :D

Hope everyone has safe travel back to KP! Be blessed.

Is2Day got to call for Thanksgiving. He was able to use the sat phone on board, so that was a nice treat. He should be in Long Beach tomorrow.

Interesting note - his grandma planned a trip to Hawaii a few months ago. She's going to be there the same time he is. How cool is that?

JRH: What a nice surprise for you! My older son in Iraq was not able to get to a phone on Thanksgiving, but I did get an email today :) At least I had my KP'er home this year for Thanksgiving....not next year though. That's awesome about Grandma too.....totally cool!
