i know we applied a long time ago, but did anyone check the box that said "are you interested in debating for northwestern?" i'm just seeing what's up; i debate nationally and that stuff pretty much dominates my resume, so i obviously checked it. i was wondering really what purpose that serves on the application.

I think it's just so they can make sure the debate coach is aware of who has applied with that interest...

yeah i debate nationally too and idk whats up with that either, it seems pretty useless to me because putting "no" (even if its honest) is something that i think very few people would do.

but fyi, northwestern's debate team has won more 1st place champs than any other school. thats my only guess as to why they asked about debate and not one of the other 1,000 clubs they have

I checked "no" because, frankly, I'm not interested in debating. Who would lie about something so trivial? But then again, if its so trivial, lying doesnt matter (or does it?).

aoeguy: haha i know all about northwestern's debate team. almost everyone i know who goes to northwestern i know from debate.

btw, what event do you do? are you going to cfl or nfl nat's?
