So there is this girl in my class, who never shows up for tests, or in class writes, or any kind of exam. Instead she stays home, calls in sick, and sleeps/studies, then takes exam a few days later. Then she gets A's...which I feel aren't really A's

Well, she certainly isn’t going to go far if she continues like that. The A’s are short-term rewards, but there will be long term consequences.

In my calc class, all homework assignments are due on the day of the test. We learn the material to complete at least one homework assignment after each class, but the majority of people don’t pace themselves and leave all the assignments for the last weekend or even the last day.

It’s kinda funny seeing how many people skip on the day of the test.
And since these people don’t have the motivation to keep on top of their work, they don’t have what it takes to get an A.

All I can say is that more grandmothers die during final exams week than during any other time of the year. Some of them more than once. And Staples must do a killer business on ink sales the day after term papers are due, because it seems like everyone runs out of ink the day of. And there must be some mysterious electronic surge that conveniently turns off everyone’s alarm clocks on test day.

So, yes. They do. But it usually catches up with them one way or another.

Not that i love tests, but I like how they equalize testing conditions giving equal opportunities to succeed. But this kid defies this every time…

Bugs me to think that she’ll get into a better college than i will because she cheats like this.

I mean …even if I begged my parents and told them I’d fail a class if i took a certain test, would make me go to school and take it.

It doesn’t bother me. I don’t get why people get so annoyed with others cheating to get better grades. The way I see it, just do your work and be honest yourself. It’s not like your grade is lowered when other people cheat. Let them do what they will do; it’ll catch up with them eventually. Even if it doesn’t in any discernible way, their attitudes towards learning and integrity–two things I at least value in others–are already changed for the worse.
