That's what a well-coached, talented, motivated, passionate, proud team plays like?

Tyler Lewan made Will Gholston look like one of god’s angels. Honestly, the unclassiest player I’ve seen.

Alexandre, look at the stats. We only tried 1 FG between 30-39, which means the rest are all 40+. See my statistics on Giboons over 40. We will just have to agree to disagree.

Emzee, Tom Gholson was pretty bad himself.

Lewan was embarrassing, but he was not as bad as Gholston.

Yes bearcats, we will have to disagree on Gibbons. As far as I am concerned, he is extremely accurate in the 20-40 yard range. He may not be as accurate beyond the 45 yard range, but that point is moot since the two attempts were for 33 and 40 yards.

Lewan got frustrated and tried to get payback for MSUs dirty play the last few years.

At least he didnt try to break denards neck or punch someone

The suites sound lame… hopefully the recruiters are cool

Well if the company has the whole suite covered you have nothing to worry about, other than being drunk or high.

Alright, then I’ll do my best to avoid those

Great article in the Michigan Daily today focusing on Hoke

[SportsMonday Column: Time to re-examine the execution of Brady Hoke’s coaching career - The Michigan Daily](SportsMonday Column: Time to re-examine the execution of Brady Hoke's coaching career)

A good quote from the article that summarizes my feeling…

The game was painful to watch. It certainly felt like they gave up in the second half. Is it a conditioning issue…the way the practice? Michigan state played the entire game We played for the 1st 1 1/2 quarters.

Yes, I cringed to see Gardner pull back on a 3rd down so close to sticks… It’s not like the guy is not going through hell getting sacked 7 times. Still…Denard would have danced around that and made the first down.

As for his seat heating up…

We will be lucky to win one more game this season. We have a chance at Nebraska (they lost to minnesota and it is at home) and Northwestern (They’ve lost every conference game so far). I’d love to see umich win both, but I just don’t think we have the consistent play to do so.

Hoke’s seat will likely get much hotter!

As for the seat getting hotter; Hoke is essentially in a no-win scenario over the next two weeks. Getting a rather mediocre NE team at home and then NW, who has lost five in a row (have a bye week this week), means he has to win both.

Maybe a win for him if we show significant improvement - but why expect that.

I don’t really see how anyone can pin this on Gardner. I’ve personally never seen someone get sacked three times in a row like what happened yesterday. It was a pathetic showing by the OL. Yes, our defense is good but that should not have happened.

Did he make some dumb decisions? Yes, but nothing that would’ve led to them only getting 6 points.

And Lewan was embarrassing. I do not defend dirty players. Period. I didn’t defend Gholston and I don’t defend thugs like Suh. You don’t get even though on innocent players. I don’t care what team you’re on- it’s classless.

It’s become pretty clear that Hoke is not an elite coach. He has shown poor clock management, lack of innovation or adjustment on both sides of the ball and inability to develop talent thus far. The fact that he doesn’t even have a headset on during games means that he is mostly removed from much of the in-game decisions. The one positive is he is an amazing recruiter.

At this point any objective observer can see that Hoke has a ceiling and that is the Big Ten Championship on occasion. It is still likely that he will lose the majority of his games to MSU and OSU for the near future. If that’s all Michigan is hoping for then he is the perfect coach. The players respect him, he loves the University and the program is mostly clean.

But, if the expectation is to beat MSU, beat OSU and compete (not necessarily win) for national championships consistently, then Hoke will never be that coach. I’ll be happy to eat my words if he proves me wrong, but there is no excuse for struggling with the likes of Akron, Uconn and a very down Penn State, when it is clear that the Michigan has the edge talent wise.

tranandy, “elite coach” is a myth. It does not exist. Elite coaching staffs, that’s another thing, and I agree that Michigan is far from having one. We have an elite coaching staff on defense, and this will be plenty evident in 2015 and 2016, but there is no sign of an elite coaching staff on the offensive side of the ball. I obviously do not agree with you that Hoke cannot lead an elite program, but in order for that to happen, he will need better coaches on Offense.

“I obviously do not agree with you that Hoke cannot lead an elite program, but in order for that to happen, he will need better coaches on Offense.”

Right and that’s not Hoke’s fault, given the amount of resources at his disposal?
Al Borges is paid 700k this year. That makes him the 3rd highest paid offensive coordinator after chad morris and cam cameron. We sure don’t have the 3rd best offensive coordinator in the nation. We don’t even have a top 30 offensive coordinator.

Fact is, we have a MAC level coach who is sub-.500 his entire career, who would never have gotten the a sniff of a job of this caliber had him not been a “Michigan Man”, who’s obviously in over his heads right now.

^^^agree with above statement.

we agreed on something?

[Examining B1G assistant coach salaries - Big Ten Blog - ESPN](Examining B1G assistant coach salaries - ESPN - Big Ten Blog- ESPN)

Mattison makes $750k; Borges ONLY $550k

2nd highest assistant salary cost in the B1G

He made that in 2011. Look at the article I linked. He got a raise in 2012 bringing it to 650k, and 50k raise thereafter (700k this year, 750k next).

They are playing even worse than last week thus far!

I’m beginning to agree with bearcat about Gardner.
