Do you have 100% free choice of style when you write that essay? Mine sounds like a personal statement, is that okay?

Yeah I’m pretty sure you can do whatever you want. Penn just wants to be able to understand you more as a person.

okay. but is it about the future? like can you choose whichever age you are in when you are writing it? like let’s say I’m 36 and writing my own autobiography?

You can write an autobiography whenever you want, so I think the topic and setting here is entirely up to you.
I know a lot of people who are recycling essays for this one (which seems like a bad idea, considering that this essay is optional and they’re probably looking for creativity), but that means that “personal statement” type essays should be fine.
I’m having SO many issues with this 217/300 thing though, it’s too open ended, really driving me crazy hahah.

same here, ugh, I’m having so much regrets aboutt his essay. It’s like if nothing is good enough. But I think this will put us ina favorable position since we put time and effort in makin it good and creative. And it shows the ad office a lot of personality as well good luck with yor essay!

Hahah yeah I hope so! Good luck with yours too :)
