I am a non-traditional student but I went to a 4 year University when I was fresh out of high school and I immaturely blew my first few years there and ended with a 1.9 GPA.
14 years later I am at the #1 ranked Community College according to Wa. Monthly Magazine and I have excelled beyond my own expectations. I have a 3.85 GPA and not from fundamental or easy classes either. I've taken every psychology class, 3 major Biology courses, as well as College Algebra and Statistics to name a few. I'm very active in the community and on campus, and have held presidential positions within campus student associations. I'm graduating with just my AA degree but want to transfer to a top school... maybe even an Ivy league. With my previous screw up 14 years ago at the 4 year college what are my chances at getting into a premier educational institution?
I'm excited and terrified at the same time.
Also, I'm very new to having options when it comes to education, so I've been running into brick walls when it comes to finding school funds (scholarships, grants, etc) other than the standard financial aid I am receiving currently. What are the odds of non-traditional students getting scholarships?
